Energy Stockholm - Sea trials
August 28th, 2024
The Energy Stockholm, a liquefied natural gas bunkering barge with a capacity of 8,000 m³, was launched at the RMK Marine Shipyard in July 2023.
At the end of August 2024, it reached a new milestone: sea trials.
The Energy Stockholm will be owned and operated by LNG Shipping, a joint venture between Victrol and the SOGESTRAN Group. It will be delivered to Shell Western LNG B.V. under a long-term charter contract for bunkering operations in the ports of Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam (ARA).
It will be equipped with the most advanced technologies to optimize its energy efficiency, including a dual-fuel propulsion system capable of using boil-off gas from the cargo. The vessel will be the first LNG bunkering barge to use batteries and shore power connection to help reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
