[Vidéo] Navigation of the Pointe de Caux

The Pointe de Caux is a ship in the fleet of the Sogestran group. It was delivered in September 2022. This vessel was specifically designed to meet the client’s needs: a maritime ship with the characteristics allowing it to pass under the Tancarville bridge (A29), with a low draft and air draft, in order to access the Oudalle refinery.

The ship must perform a delicate maneuver both going to and returning from the refinery: since the canal is not wide enough to allow the Pointe de Caux to turn around, it leaves the refinery in reverse and makes its U-turn between the depot’s berths, at the foot of Château d’Orcher.

Video of this maneuver, a routine operation for the ship, but an extraordinary one.
